Hi Kai. So far, I have not found anything on the site that discusses tremolo. Perhaps I’m just overlooking it. Are there any video lessons on tremolo?
Thanks, Mark

Hey Mark - No tremolo yet. I guess I just never prioritized it since it's not in any of the pieces or falsetas we have up. I'll put that towards the top of the list for future videos. In the meantime let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll be glad to answer them.
Cheers,
Kai
Hi Kay - Thanks your video my arpeggio technique improved immensely. Nobody ever mentioned finding that "happy place" in your fingers and nails and to make each stroke from the big knuckles. That level of insight is very hard to find and even harder to witness from other players. I kindly suggest you make a tremolo video. This is a core technique in flamenco and it's easy to fall in bad habits/technique... Needless to say my tremolo sucks!!!!
Also, my wife makes fun of me when I'm practicing tremolo... If anything, I'd like this to stop XD
The part about your wife making fun of you clinches it - I’ll make a video! We’re working on a beginner course now, so when that is done we’ll get on it.
What tremolo do you practice when you practice it?
Cheers,
Kai
Thanks man! 5 note tremolo P I A M I
I hope so!! I meant what material are
you working on?
-Kai
I’m also working on 5 note P I A M I. I’m such a newby that I can’t even answer your question about “material.” That’s a part of it for me. I’d like to learn the technique but also the context of when tremolo is used - is it played only in certain Palos?
You can play tremolo in any palo. It's generally most common in the palos that are libre (not in any particular compás), but there are even a few in Buleria, so really there's no limitation. We'll probably do Soleá first.
Cheers,
Kai
I've been practicing tremolo just by adapting some falsetas I already know. Here's an example, just to give everyone some ideas for adapting material.... there's a few mistakes (a little nervous playing for a camera), but this is the Moraito Friday Falseta... WITH TREMOLO!
Interesting. Landon. I’m going to have to give that a try.
For me, I think it was a good way to practice, because I already knew the left hand so I could just focus on the right.
In listening to it now, I think I might be doing the 16th note, classical tremolo. Or possibly doing a mix of both flamenco and classical 🙄 sorry about that. Don't do it that way! Lol.
That’s a great idea Landon - I may steal it from you!
Is there a tremolo lesson by now? I still can't find one :)
